The Order of the Feather Fraternity, Inc. has been a leadership and service organization for young men in and around the New York City Metropolitain area since 1946.  Founded at Camp Minisink, over 1000 young men have since "crossed the burning sands": successfully completing a six month "pledging" period during which each met the rigorous and character building standards of The Order. The organization was founded on the premises of creating a bond for the young men to become valuable assets to society in Harlem during a time of arising gang activity, crime, and drugs. It was created based on what Feathermen (Brotherhood Members) five standpoints known as the five trails; Honor, Honesty, Courage, Thrift, and Purity. These young men have since gone on to ever more successful endeavors; and to assume leadership and service roles in this - and other - communities across the nation.
