I) Psychologists resolve ethical issues by minimizing misuse of their work, deal with conflicts of ethic codes according to ethical standards, and deal with ethical violations by another psychologist informally or formally. They cooperate in ethics investigations fully, do not file reckless ethics complaints, and do not deny persons advancement based solely upon an ethics complaint. II) Psychologists operate within their boundaries of competence, based on education, training, and experience or they make referrals to qualified psychologists to protect individuals from harm unless it is an emergency in which case services may be rendered. Make ongoing efforts to maintain their competence, delegate work to individuals avoiding exploitation, and that they can do competently, while also adhering to these same standards for themselves. III) For human relations, psychologists do not engage in discrimination of any kind, do not engage in harassment or exploitation of any kind, avoids multiple relationships, avoids conflicts of interest, and cooperates with other professionals when necessary, while clearly establishing all roles of individuals and planning for the possible interruption or termination of client services for whatever reason. IV) Psychologists maintain privacy and confidentiality, are clear on their limitations, obtain informed consent for all recordings, takes steps to minimize intrusions on privacy, and limits Disclosures that are written, oral, or through consultations unless permitted by law. V) When utilizing advertising and other public statements, Psychologists do not make public statements that are false or deceptive, take responsibility for Statements by others, do not compensate members of the media in return for publicity, and are clear on the intentions and purposes of paid advertisements, descriptions and do not engage in solicitation of business from actual or potential therapy clients or patients.

VI) Psychologists maintain records and Fees to facilitate later services, allow replication of research designs, ensure accuracy of billing and payments, and to ensure compliance with the law while maintaining confidentiality in record keeping. Psychologists may not withhold records due to non payment, must specify early billing arrangements and must not misrepresent their fees. VII) Psychologists responsible for education and training must provide appropriate knowledge and experiences that meet required goals of the program, ensure current and accurate descriptions of the program content, syllabi, and class expectations and requirements. Do not require personal disclosure unless clearly stated prior and establish a timely and specific process for providing feedback to students. VIII) In dealing with Research and Publications psychologists obtain approval prior to conducting research, clarify all procedures and purposes and protect participants from adverse consequences of the research. Do not utilize deception in research unless absolutely necessary and it is deemed not harmful, and give a full debriefing afterwards. Utilize care when dealing with animals in research, do not fabricate data, do not plagiarize, and respect confidentiality when reviewing others work. IX) When doing assessments Psychologists base their opinions on information to substantiate their findings, explain all limitations and use assessments when appropriate and are deemed valid and reliable for use. Release test data when requested by appropriate parties, avoid Assessment by Unqualified Persons, and don’t rely on obsolete tests and outdated test results. X) For therapy psychologists clarify procedures, distinguish between professional and trainee, and clarify all participant roles during treatment. They do not become intimate with former patients or current patients, their relatives, or ex sexual partners. Psychologists prepare for possible treatment interruption and terminate services for appropriate reasons and when certain situations warrant.
