Richard LaManna, PhD, was born in Brooklyn and graduated from CUNY with an AA and later a BA in English. He lived for 20+ years in Georgia and Florida where he completed graduate degrees in literature and served as Professor of English, and later Curator of Research & Publications, at St. Petersburg College. Upon returning to NYC, he served as department chair of arts & communications a private college where he established WAC and SAC (Speaking Across the Curriculum) programs, directed the writing center, and revised/expanded the curriculum. He returned to CUNY and now serves as Academic Assessment Manager at BCC. His fiction, essays, book reviews, and poems have appeared in literary journals, magazines and newspapers.
