We will learn Italian within a global context, and discover small communities where Italian is still spoken today: Albania, Malta, Croatia, Slovenia, and Switzerland. The purpose of this comparatist approach is to foster an open dialogue and engage in intercultural awareness.

Students will be able to 1) appreciate cultural differences from multiple perspectives; 2) develop critical skills in evaluating different cultures, 3) understand the interconnectedness of our world, 4) appreciate the importance of speaking foreign languages, 5) become more self-reflective about your native culture.
