BOLD:

BCC Organization for Leadership in Disability

BOLD is a student group to promote disability culture and identity and to support disability rights for students at CUNY's Bronx Community College. The group is open to all students, disabled and nondisabled, and encourages members of the community to remember that NOT ALL DISABILITIES ARE VISIBLE!! CLUB GOALS: 1) Raise disability awareness. 2) Advocate for accessibility and disability rights. 3) Promote disability culture.

BOLD is proud to host on-campus events that invite our community to understand disability in richer and more unconventional terms and we make a special effort to collaborate with other campus groups, like the Black and Latino Male Initiative, the Psychology Club, and the Center for Tolerance and Understanding to help promote a more enriched and interconnected understanding of the diversity of our school. Recent events include a talk by Jonathan Metzl, "How Did Schizophrenia Became a Black Disease?" and a performance by comedian Greg Walloch.

Active members of the BOLD group have graduated or left the college. If you are interested in making the group active again, we're eager to hear from you! Please contact Julia Miele Rodas.
