Julia Miele Rodas earned her M.Phil. and Ph.D. in English from the CUNY Graduate Center and her undergraduate degree from Sarah Lawrence College. She is especially interested in disability studies, Victorian fiction, and utopian literature.

Prof. Rodas teaches writing (ENG 11 and ENG 12) and literature (ENG 14) at Bronx Community College and has also taught writing, poetry, Victorian fiction, utopian literature, and disability studies at a number of other schools including Hunter College, Lehman College, New York City College of Technology, Cooper Union, Sarah Lawrence, and New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Some of the conversations Prof. Rodas has with students in the classroom help her think about her own writing projects, which often have to do with disability, literature, and popular culture.

In addition to teaching and writing, Prof. Rodas acts as an informal adviser for BOLD (the student disability club at Bronx Community College, currently dormant).
