About Me

Who are you? Why are you here?

My name is Sandra and well answering questions like these are really hard for me because I am just nineteen and I am still figuring out who I am for myself. Let me start by saying a few things about me. I am the second of four children. I live in Harlem but currently attending Bronx Community College. I am majoring in Biology. In the future I want to become a doctor. Don't know what type of doctor yet but I'm thinking probably oncologist or pediatrician. Ever since I started school I got the idea that I wanted to be a doctor instead of a ballerina or princess like the girls at that age used to say. Today I am still stuck with this career and I think that most than anything the idea of helping people is the reason of why I am into medicine. I want to help people by helping them feel better more than anything else but I think that for me it goes way father than that. If it's in my hands to help people in some way then I would do everthing that I can possibly can and even the impossible. I was raised with the idea that giving is more important than receiving. After BCC I want to transfer to City College or even Hunter. My parents have always supported me in my decision to get into college and I am very thankful. Being the third one in the family to attend college has influenced me in starting a college education as well as my background. I was born in Mexico and well my parents did not finish school and I think that I am capable of someday being a good doctor and make them feel proud of me. I want to prove that America is really the place where dreams come true and how else can I prove it if  I become a doctor.
